Do animals sunburn? 

Yes, especially animals with light colored or thin fur, or those of hairless varieties. They can also develop squamous cell skin cancers because of long term sun exposure. It happens to cats and dogs with light (pink) colored lips and noses.

It's easy for a human to avoid getting a sunburn simply by putting on a hat or more...

Well for startes they play moshi monsters and they get style ideas from their own monster and make there own clothing from dead animal skin for example sunglases and jackets.
